I found this little note in the Scouting Newsletter:

GONE HOME
Doug Simpson August 3, 2008
Norman Marks August 14, 2008
Alicia (Alice) Attardo October 25, 2008
William R. K. Britton October 30, 2008
Dahl Hatch November 25, 2008
David Reichle December 1, 2008

When Scouting’s founder, Robert Baden Powell died on January 8, 1941, he was buried in Kenya. His gravestone bears a circle with a dot in the center which is the trail sign for ¯I have gone home.. The term gone home has been adopted by Scouting as a respectful manner in which to recognize dedicated Scouters upon their passing.
The Board of Directors of the Long Beach Area Council passes and issues a ¯Resolution of Respect. to their families.
