Dear Family, I thought I would give you an update on your travelling Mom (grandma) and let you know I am still functioning. Last week I spent four days with Traci and David in Cameron Park. They took me "The Lion King" and Six flags (in a wheel chair) and I had the privilege of accompanying Traci as she visited her grieving neices and nephews and their Dad in the hospital. (check Hatch Batch if you don't know about the accident). Now I am home for a week getting ready for our 4th of July party. We'll miss a lot of you but Rex and Eli are coming from Utah and Steve and Suzie from Arizona and maybe Kerry and Diana so we expect to have much fun. The following week I'll fly to Utah and be met by the Cannon's and go to the ranch for a couple of days. I'm looking forward to meeting Nate's fiance, Angie. Then I'll spend a couple of days with Traci and troops and end up at Rex's and Rebecca's. Sounds like a full week!! And then Diane and I will be going to the wedding in San Antonio (via Austin) at the end of the month. I don't know if I can stand all the excitement, but I expect to see a lot of my loved ones! As to a more serious tone, I thought I'd share a few quotes from one of the Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson. which seem timely as our government is spiraling out of control: Democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give it to those who would not. It is incumbant on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes - a principle which would save half the wars in the world today. I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government . This from the man who wrote the Declaration of Independence! I wish I could say that I will leave this world better than I found it. My only comfort is to know that each of you are Saturdays Warriors and will be stalwart and valiant to the end . Our family is in good hands as they live the principles of the Gospel which will be the only safety in perilous times. You are always in my prayers and thoughts. Love, Mom Grandma
