Thanksgiving with the Northern Cannons
Lindey and Chris were great host
Dinner was awesome-The rain fell all day
Friday the sun came out (a small miracle in
Washington) and we headed to Mount Saint Helen
But the snow kept us from getting up close and personal

New England
I thought I'd add some of my picture to the Blog
You can see that Vermont is still recovering, I'm glad we went, tourism seems
to have suffered and they needed visitors. We did not have any crowd or traffic.
I think we met all our goals, Covered bridges? pumkins? lighthouse's?
Moose? colorful leaves? Lobster?
Lots of water in New England, a little rainy, but that did not stop
the hikes through the colorful forest.
Color....check

See the covered bridge during the rain.

New England

The destruction from Hurricane Irene was widespread in Vermont, but we were amazed at all the roads that had been rebuilt in only a few weeks time.  New Englanders from all surrounding states came to pitch in to help.

Diane had a thing for cemeteries, so we stopped often to observe the tombstones of those from the past

We came across a delightful little town along the coast of Maine that was having a pumpkin carving contest with HUGE pumpkins
