Elder Hales, came and spoke in the Cerritos Stake this morning. I even got to shake his hand as he walked down the isle. I thought I'd share some of his message. The bottom line is "Obedience". He told the story of Saul, who was to distroy the Amalekites and all they have, but he returned with some spoils. He brought back some of the best of the flocks for burnt offerings, thinking he was doing something great, even though it was not what he was told to do. The message was "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice...." He then is told, because he had rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected him from being King. Saul then tells Samuel "I feared the people, and obeyed their voice".
We don't get to pick and choose what commandments we want to follow, and hopefully we do not fear what our friends think, over the Lord. Hope everyone is having a nice Sabbath...

Sounds like a great conference and great advice. I have always thought Elder Hales is a kind and Christlike person.

Awesome! I hope you still are washing your hands though.
